Who Is...Andrea Antanorsi?
Written by Chloe Carlish
Andrea is one of the rare individuals who aims to not just become something in life, but to live her passion. She knows who she is, and who she wants to become. She’s known ever since she was three years old that she wanted to one day become a fashion designer. In fact, even as an impressionable third-grader, she was so focused on fashion that one of her school reports was done on a certain Coco Chanel. She’s in love with fashion and all it is. Andrea recognizes that this future she envisions for herself will require much hard work and constant dedication, and to that she bows her head and begins a sketch.
Her life is built around beauty and discovery, and she doesn’t want to waste a minute. Whether that means embracing the world around her by traveling to different nations and adopting their culture wholeheartedly, or letting the world slow to a stop so as to enjoy a calm bubble bath. As she’s gotten older, she’s grown to recognize the importance of letting the mind and world slow. Andrea has attested to the fact that in the past, her life was in a constant state of motion, and she has recently made steps to relax more and truly appreciate all the world has to offer, and all she has to offer the world. In fact, she tries to do one thing each week that will help her future, whether that means producing a sketch, giving birth to a fresh idea, or creating something new and beautiful by means of sewing embroidery. Some of her favorite personal pieces include a strapless dress she made for homecoming (with a matching purse) and a sweater from a thrift store with the word “Berkley” embroidered on the front along with flowers.
The idea of creation and beautification remains close to her heart - she learned to embroider as an eight-year-old girl by practicing on napkins. Moreover, her mom used to be a fashion designer and is now an architect. Her older sister, Michelle, is twenty-two, and lives in New York studying architecture at the Pratt Institute. Camilla, her other sister, is twenty-one and is studying archeology and anthropology. Her dad is a chocolatier, and owns the chocolate company Chuao. It’s evident that one commonality in Andrea’s family is their sense of creativity. In the words of Andrea, “Everyone is really art oriented”. She comes from a place where art is recognized, and that continues to shine through her everyday life.
Andrea says that the most important thing she’s learned from her family is to travel, as that’s something they love to do together. She says, “If you ever get the opportunity to travel, take it, because you really grow as a person”. She says that you learn from different cultures, and her travels have taught her to appreciate the world around her. Some of the places she’s loved traveling to the most are India and Africa, places she’s described as so different, yet so incredible.
Another aspect of her life where the idea of things varying comes into play is her social world. Andrea says that the thing she loves most about her friends is that they’re all so different and have such different lives, but that they all have the same ideals and morals. She keeps her friends close to her heart, and likes to know that they will all be there for one another no matter what. She values the communication and transparency her friends have with each other, and how close they are.
Andrea says that her favorite thing about life is the future. It’s easy to see why, because her future is bound to be bright.

Who Is...Zachary Abbas?
Written by Chloe Carlish
Zachary Abbas is a person unparalleled to many. A profound pillar of our school, his reputation and intellect will withstand at High Tech High North County through the sands of time.
One of his largest successes at our school is the Model United Nations Club. It has been said that the triumph of this club can largely be accredited to Zach, with its widespread impact and long term relevance. As the Secretary General of the club, he works tirelessly to ensure every background guide is as detailed as possible, that each student pushes themselves to the best of their ability, and and that the club represents the best High Tech High has to offer every day. He remains the epitome of an ambitious, dedicated, and driven student. He is relentless, and continuously willing to work harder than necessary to achieve excellence.
Another factor in Zach’s personality is his sheer knowledge. As said by a close friend of Zach´s, ¨My favorite thing about Zach is that he knows a lot about history. If you ask him anything about history, he’ll tell you all this useless information...¨. His peer then proceeded to share a colorful anecdote in which Zach gave a 10 minute long explanation of Chinese history to Dr. Drew during their 10th grade year as a response to a singular question.
In his dedication to MUN, his intellectual curiosity, and constant display of politeness, Zach has reflected qualities of a strong, confident, aspiring alpha male. He has a unique ability to dominate a room, in the best ways possible.
He does this by consistently staying true to himself and all that he is. He will defend his beliefs to his last breath, and he is regularly sure of his own capabilities. Yet, even with his continual dedication and courteous manner, Zach is always ready to enjoy himself with his friends and have a great time. Much of the student body has most likely fallen witness to an inside joke or two with Zach and his friends. Considering all that he is and all that he will become, it is truly an honor just to have met him. It wouldn’t be a lie to say this his possibilities are endless, because he can truly do anything.
